Fuel costs rise while the dollars needed to heat your home are harder and harder to come by. It’s a discouraging set of circumstances, but not to worry because you’ve got a friend in Mother Nature – specifically, the Sun.
For those with a geothermal system, the Sun doesn’t just heat the Earth, it provides free fuel to heat their home in the winter, cool it in the summer, AND 95% of the domestic hot water they require to meet their daily needs! Even better, a geothermal system does all of that while reducing heating and cooling costs by 50 to 70%.

How Geothermal Works
Approximately six feet below the earth’s surface, the ground remains at a constant temperature year round, and within that earth is energy – free heat – that can be transferred to your home thanks to innovative technology. A geothermal system begins with a series of pipes buried using either a vertical or horizontal loop installation outside the home. Filled with water and anti-freeze the pipes gather the heat from the earth and in conjunction with a compressor and heat exchanger move it to the home for warmth in the winter months. During the hot summer months, the system moves heat from the home to produce cool air. Inside the house, a geothermal unit distributes the air for even comfort all year long.
A Simple Source of Energy Gathered by a Complex System
Humans have used natural energy sources for a long, long time but Mother Nature can’t do all of the work. For instance, somebody had to build the windmills and damn the rivers to harvest the wind and the water. This is also true of geothermal energy and the systems needed to harness it. This is why it is critical that you enlist the services of a qualified heating and cooling contractor to build this system for you.
Family Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning fits the bill. Our licensed and trained professionals have over 20 years experience in the GEO business, and can confidently convert your current conventional system to an efficient geothermal system.
Recoup your Investment in 3 to 5 years!
Admittedly, the initial cost to excavate and install the loops, geothermal unit, compressor and heat exchanger that comprise a geothermal system will be considerably more than installing a conventional furnace. But it’s also true that you’ll get what you pay for: a highly efficient system that will save you so much in fuel bills alone that you can feasibly recoup your Investment in 3 to 5 years.
